FORCES OF RECOVERY UKRAINE
THE PROBLEM
Ukraine is currently home to over 20 million girls,
women, wives, Mothers and Grandmothers*
Hundreds of thousands of girls and women are coming to terms with the loss of family members.
Thousands have served in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and face veteran issues, such as life altering injuries, PTSD and trauma.
Across Ukraine, families have been torn apart, with members being forced to flee to other countries in search of safety. Of the women who remain in Ukraine, a significant portion of them are the sole family member responsible for caring for young children and/or elderly family.
Ukrainian women are:
- Grieving their loved ones
- Sitting in limbo, awaiting news of a loved one who may never return
- Forced to flee birthplaces and family homes due to Russian aggression
- Challenged in accessing basic needs like shelter, food, and healthcare
- Facing ongoing attacks on civilians and infrastructure
- Managing young children, traversing, working and simply surviving daily life in a conflict zone
The courage and resilience of Ukraines females is astounding, but instability, grief, financial strain, insecurity regarding the future, limited support options and a struggle to maintain hope, inevitably make life a daily grind. It wears down the mental health of the female population coping with their daily battles and the ongoing conflict.
We have built our organisation around helping them...
